Intensives & Retreats

Don’t we all know how life gets in the way of good relationships?

  • Work life gets stressful and the boss wants you to perform. If you don’t perform you lose your job.
  • Family life takes over. Your kids need to get to this practice or that practice or this friends birthday party
  • Your partner is out with their friends again and you are stuck at home alone surfing the web or staring at the TV
  • You are visiting family and you realize you have no interest in being there.

These are the things that lead to relationship breakups…misunderstandings and disconnected families.

WHY STAY STUCK when there is a possible alternative to help your broken or difficult family and couple relationships?

What is an Intensive?

An intensive is a 2 or 3 day way to focus specifically and immediately on your hurt and fractured relationships as well as find ways to get to the core of what is going on in them.

Intensive counseling is often held at our private practice offices located in Vancouver or Olympia WA. We can also hold couple and family intensives for your convenience at a location of your choice within Washington State or beyond. You can expect to receive 12 hours of focused relationship work to be completed over the course of 3 days.

Some families/couples prefer to stay at hotels nearby to allow for greater flexibility and to maintain complete focus on the work they are doing in sessions. We make these accommodations for you so you don’t have to stress about any of the details. We understand that life can be busy and it may feel more convenient for you to stay at home and participate in this intensive counseling however, we suggest investing in your valuable relationships by providing your complete undivided attention. For this reason we strongly encourage that accommodations are made so it will allow you to fully invest in your relationship.

We suggest that you prepare for your sessions, take time off work, find childcare if needed, and arrange for all daily responsibilities to be met during your intensive counseling time frame.

Your session will be scheduled throughout the 3 day period with breaks. The breaks between sessions are a strategic and an integral part of the intensive format.

The time between sessions should be spent with each other reviewing the material, talking, going for walks, relaxing, or going out to eat. We will provide specific activities for you to complete during this time.
